IMMEDIATE GIFTS
Donate Online via Credit Card:
Use a credit card to make your secure donation by clicking our DONATE button. Donating online is easy. It allows for gift designation, a gift made in memory or in honor of someone, or to establish a recurring gift.Recurring Gifts:
A recurring gift is a pre-set, monthly, quarterly, or annual contribution that a donor makes by automatically charging a credit card according to a schedule of their choosing or issues scheduled donations through a donor-advised fund, for example. Through our online donation form, donors can spread out their giving over time, often enabling a larger sum gift than a one-time donation.Gifts of Securities:
Gifts of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds may provide special tax advantages. Please contact us to learn more.
Cash, Checks, and Grants:
Please make checks (including recommended grants from Donor-Advised Funds) payable to Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. and in the memo line specify the fund you would like to support. Please place your donation in the Carolina Meadows Foundation mail drawer on the lower right side of the Club Center mailroom or mail it to the address listed at the bottom of this webpage.

QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS
Only Carolina Meadows, Inc.* (CMI) can receive a donation from your IRA to count as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) and it may count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for that tax year. NOTE: This does not change any other tax-exempt giving options that should be directed to Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. This only affects gifts through QCD or RMDs.
Please have the QCD paid to the order of Carolina Meadows, Inc. and note 1) the donor’s name and 2) the specific fund to benefit from the QCD (such as Employee Success Fund). Carolina Meadows, Inc. will then appropriately restrict that QCD or RMD for the purpose designated by you.
Unrestricted QCD or RMD gifts made to CMI can be transferred to CMF and will be appropriately controlled and designated by the CMF Board.
*While Carolina Meadows Foundation (CMF)’s tax status is as a 501(c)(3) public charity, it is classified by the IRS as a Type II supporting organization in section 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donors cannot make a QCD to donor-advised funds, private foundations, or supporting organizations. So, in our case, a QCD can be made to Carolina Meadows, Inc. which is also a public charity and not classified as a supporting organization.
Please read this FAQ to learn more.
As with all giving, we encourage you to consult with your tax or financial advisors about your unique situation and for guidance on how to minimize your tax liability and maximize the impact of your gift.

(CMF) is to receive a certain percentage or amount of your estate; in the whole, in part, or the remainder of your estate after providing for heirs. The following is sample bequest wording.
BEQUEST – For Unrestricted Purposes
I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. (Tax ID # 82-5385916), a not-for-profit organization located in Chapel Hill, NC, ______ percent (%) or ______ amount ($) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my trust/estate as an unrestricted gift to be used in the area of greatest need at the time the gift is received, as determined by the Board of Directors for the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc.
I may choose at a later date to enter into a separate agreement between myself and Carolina Meadows related to the use of this gift and would request that the Board of Directors of the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. utilize the gift in accordance with terms of that agreement.
Name the Foundation as a Beneficiary
Naming the Carolina Meadows Foundation as the beneficiary of a donor-advised fund, life insurance policy, retirement plan, or profit-sharing pension plan will accomplish a charitable goal while realizing significant tax savings. It can be costly to your heirs to pass such assets because of heavy tax consequences. By naming the Carolina Meadows Foundation as a beneficiary you maintain control over the asset while living, but at your death, the plan passes to support Carolina Meadows Foundation free of both estate and income taxes. Donors should consult with their tax advisor regarding the tax benefits of such gifts.
Making a charitable gift by designating a beneficiary is easy and does not involve a lawyer. Simply request a change-of-beneficiary form from your retirement or insurance plan administrator. When you have finished, please return the form to your plan administrator and notify the Carolina Meadows Foundation. Below is sample language for your beneficiary designation:
Designation: Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. (Tax ID # 82-5385916) a not-for-profit organization located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
