WAYS TO GIVE

  • IMMEDIATE GIFTS

    Donate Online via Credit Card:
Use a credit card to make your donation securely by clicking our DONATE button. Donating online is easy. It allows for gift designation, a gift made in memorial or to establish a sustaining gift.

    Recurring Gifts:
Strengthen your impact with a recurring gift. A recurring gift is a pre-set, monthly or quarterly contribution that a donor wishes to make by automatically charging a credit card to issue regular donations, spreading out their gift and often enabling a larger gift than if in one lump sum. Our DONATE button enables this choice.

    Gifts of Securities:

Stocks, Bonds & Mutual Funds. These gifts may provide special tax advantages for our donors. Please contact us to learn more.

    Cash and Checks:

Make checks payable to Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. and put in the Foundation mailbox in the Club Center mailroom. Specify any specific designation on the memo line or in an attached note.

Becoming a Legacy Leader offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference and to leave a lasting impact on the community you lovingly call home.

There are several ways to become a Legacy Leader.

Establish your Legacy with an Entrance Fee Refund.

An easy way to make a legacy gift is to direct a portion of your entrance fee to the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc.. This can be a dollar amount, a percentage or a split among other beneficiaries. For many residents, the idea of making a gift from their entrance fee is both novel and attractive. The Foundation can help facilitate your making of such a legacy gift.

Include Carolina Meadows in Your Will or Trust

Bequests may be in the form of cash, securities, real estate, or other property. You can specify that Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. (CMF) is to receive a certain percentage or amount of your estate; in the whole, in part, or the remainder of your estate after providing for heirs. The following is sample bequest wording.

 BEQUEST – For Unrestricted Purposes

I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. (Tax ID # 82-5385916), a not-for-profit organization located in Chapel Hill, NC, ______ percent (%) or ______ amount ($) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my trust/estate as an unrestricted gift to be used in the area of greatest need at the time the gift is received, as determined by the Board of Directors for the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc.

I may choose at a later date to enter into a separate agreement between myself and Carolina Meadows related to the use of this gift and would request that the Board of Directors of the Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. utilize the gift in accordance with terms of that agreement.

Name Carolina Meadows Foundation as a Beneficiary for Retirement Plans

Naming the Carolina Meadows Foundation as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan asset such as a 401(k), 403(b), IRA, or profit-sharing pension plan will accomplish a charitable goal while realizing significant tax savings. It can be costly to your heirs to pass such assets because of heavy tax consequences. By naming the Carolina Meadows Foundation as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, you maintain control over the asset while living, but at your death, the plan passes to support Carolina Meadows free of both estate and income taxes. Donors should consult with their tax advisor regarding the tax benefits of such gifts.

Making a charitable gift from your retirement plan is easy and does not involve a lawyer. Simply request a change-of-beneficiary form from your retirement plan administrator. When you have finished, please return the form to your plan administrator and notify the Carolina Meadows Foundation. Below is sample language for your beneficiary designation to CMF:

Designation: Carolina Meadows Foundation, Inc. (Tax ID # 82-5385916) a not-for-profit organization located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
